The Numbers are In!
2024 was a very productive year
The Turimiquire Foundation seeks to serve those who are most impacted by Venezuela's socio-economic crisis. Each year, we take measure of our work in reproductive health and rural education and development, and of all the lives that we have been able to help. We're proud of our 2024 achievements and we THANK YOU for your wonderful support.
2024 ACHIEVEMENTS
  • 9198 Family Planning and Reproductive Health Services delivered.
  • 2377 Medical Consultations in reproductive health and other primary health care.
  • 1854 Medical Follow-ups: Lab work, imaging, medicine, eyeglasses, nutrition, biopsies and treatments.
  • 1790 Surgeries: Tubal sterilizations, vasectomies, hernia repairs, various gynecological, orthopedic, oncological, pediatric, ophthalmologic, and ENT procedures.
  • 712 Reproductive Health Education Workshops for 27,991 participants focusing on teenagers, students, young adults, and public health and education personnel.
  • Scholarship Program for primary and high school students at a remote rural school and selected college students.
  • Community education services offering computers, Internet and onsite tutoring.
  • Emergency Assistance to alleviate critical problems associated with poverty, such as child malnutrition.
  • Fruit Tree Distribution in various rural communities. Durian and mangosteen are the lucrative Asian fruits highly sought after by Chinese and Asian populations in Venezuela, with increasing popularity among native Venezuelans as well. Expanding tree farming with unusual tropical fruits is an economically-viable way to rebuild the deforested landscapes of rural Venezuela and provide local farmers with new revenue streams.
CUMULATIVE ACHIEVEMENTS FROM 1997-2024
  • 81,685 low-income women and families have received family planning
  • 314,841 Couple Years of Protection (CYPs)
  • 24,227 Medical Consultations
  • 6273 Medical Follow-ups
  • 18,353 Surgeries
  • 5293 Reproductive Health Workshops attended by 126,510                     participants
  • Small Rural Library & Computer Facility established, staffed and maintained two hours walking distance from the nearest road, with subsidized school supplies and tutoring offered.
  • Development and distribution of less-known tropical fruit trees, such as durian, mangosteen, jackfruit, biriba, and star fruit, with commercial potential for local farmers. Tree permaculture conserves the tropical environment and ameliorates climate warming.
  • Ongoing Assistance and Support for Infrastructure Projects
